PA Web 2.0 Online

Hello,

A FREE, on-line, web 2.0 tutorial program has been developed by the California School Library Association, the Office of Commonwealth Libraries, and the Pennsylvania School Librarians Association. The purpose of the tutorial is to guide school librarians through the "tools of the trade" that our students use every day: blogs, photos, and images, RSS and newsfeeds, tagging and technorati, wikis, online applications, podcasting, downloadable audio, and much more.

We anticipate making this course available to all school librarians, in PA. Right now, however, we are looking for librarians who are willing to be a part of the TEST group. The first TWENTY librarians who respond to this email will be accepted into the test group. Please consider the following guidelines before volunteering:

    1. must be a school librarian working full time in a public, parochial or private K-12 school in PA
    2. must have access to a computer and the internet either during the school day or/and at home as well
    3. must be committed to completing the (9) week course including all activities in a timely manner
    4. must be willing to document and share opinions, ideas, thoughts, suggestions, etc.
    5. preference will be given to members of PSLA and the SCHOOLS Listserv

We feel that this course will be a fun and fabulous way for us all to learn together and strengthen our collective educational technology savvy. Anyone taking the course (including the test group) will have the option of registering for credits through Fresno Pacific University (there will be a tuition cost). An official, sealed transcript from Fresno U will be accepted by PDE for Act 48 credit.

If you see yourself as an adventurous, creative trailblazer, volunteer to "test" School Library Web 2.0 by sending an email, with contact information, to paonlineweb2.0@psla.org.
