PSLA Awards


Distinguished Service

The purpose of this award is to recognize an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the field of Pennsylvania school library programs.

PSLA Presidential Award

The PSLA Presidential Award is given at the discretion of the PSLA President to an individual or group who has had a significant impact on school libraries.

Outstanding Pennsylvania Author and/or Illustrator

The purpose of this award is to recognize an author and/or illustrator who has made a notable contribution to the field of literature for youth. 

Outstanding School Administrator (Building or District)

The purpose of this award is to honor a school administrator outside the library profession whose leadership made a significant contribution to school library services and programs

Outstanding Pennsylvania School Library

The purpose of this award is to recognize outstanding school library programming, instruction, and services which are integral to the students' education.

Pennsylvania School Library Innovators

The purpose of this award is to recognize Pennsylvania school librarians who demonstrate innovative practices that advance the profession.

Outstanding School Library Paraprofessional

The Outstanding School Library Paraprofessional Award honors recognize the exemplary performance of a school library paraprofessional who directly supports the school library at the school or district level.

The Spotlight Librarian

This is a current PSLA member who highlights their students, school, and district throughout the month. They complete this by taking over PSLA’s social media accounts during their weeklong social media takeover.
