  • Take Action! ALA's Legislative Action Center - Using ALA's Legislative Action Center you can contact your Representatives and Senators, see how they voted, and track federal library legislation. ALA's Legislative Action Center can also be accessed from the homepage of the ALA Washington Office (see below).
  • ALA Washington Office - This is another useful link through the American Library Association. One can find names, contact information, voting records of legislators along with current pending legislation. Also useful are the links to newspaper editors available by state and name of newspaper.
    • Office for Library Advocacy - everything you wanted to know about being a library advocate
    • ALA Washington Office's District Dispatch - Click on "School Libraries" under Categories to get the latest on federal legislation relative to school libraries.
    • Library Advocacy Day 2010 is scheduled for Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at the end of the Annual ALA Conference in Washington, DC.
