The Outstanding Student Librarian Award recognizes one student in each library program within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania who best exemplifies the qualities of leadership and dedication to the teaching profession.


  • The applicant must be enrolled in a college or university and majoring in library science
  • The applicant must have a 3.0 grade point average
  • The applicant must demonstrate outstanding leadership qualities and the potential to be a future leader in PSLA
  • The applicant must demonstrate an interest in professional action
  • The applicant must show dedication to the field of school library as a profession
  • The applicant must have graduated in December of the year following the award or is finishing in May of the year the award is given
