- PSLA Parent Advocacy Program
Parents can be a powerful voice in advocating for effective school library programs. Parents want their children to have the tools to be a success in school and in life.
The Pennsylvania PTA strongly supports school libraries. In Janaury 2011, the PA PTA developed the Position Statement on Public School Library Programs.
As the school librarian, get to know the parents and/or parent organization in your school! Work with them to develop and implement the school library mission and vision. Focus your advocacy actions on making sure the parents know how the school library program is helping achieve success for their children. Communicate with parents!
